Classification of Bianisotropic Metasurfaces from Reflectance and Transmittance Measurements

نویسندگان

چکیده

Using fundamental electromagnetic properties of metasurfaces, we build a platform to classify reciprocal bianisotropic metasurfaces from typical experimental measurements and determine isotropic, anisotropic, bi-isotropic (chiral), (so-called omega) properties. We provide guidelines identify each class by measuring macroscopic scattering parameters, that is, reflection transmission coefficients upon plane wave illumination with linear and/or circular polarization. explicitly recipe which metasurface can cannot be inferred means the chosen polarization, reflection, also clarify common confusions in classification anisotropic versus chiral based on dichroism presented recent literature.

Deducing ink-transmittance spectra from reflectance and transmittance measurements of prints

The color of prints is mainly determined by the light absorption of the inks deposited on top of paper. In order to predict the reflectance spectrum of prints, we use a spectral prediction model in which each ink is characterized by its spectral transmittance. In the present paper, we consider two classical reflectance prediction models: the Clapper-Yule model and the Williams-Clapper model. Th...

DIFFUSE REFLECTANCE MEASUREMENTS FROM DIFFERENT SURFACES

Relative diffuse reflection measurements from the original and ground surfaces using a He-Ne laser are reported. The intensity measurements for the metallic, transparent dielectric, matte plastic surfaces and colored papers are presented. Our results indicate that among metallic surfaces tested, aluminum has the highest diffuse reflectance; while the original stainless steel surface shows the l...

Estimating Leaf Water Status from Vis-nir Reflectance and Transmittance

Remotely sensing the water status of plant canopies remains a long term goal of remote sensing research. Established approaches involve measurements in the thermal infrared and the 900-2000nm reflective infrared. Less popular UVvisible-NIR techniques presumably deserve research attention, because photochemical changes linked to plant water status manifest spectral light scattering and absorptio...

Comparison of near-infrared transmittance and reflectance measurements using dispersive and Fourier transform spectrophotometers

A spectrophotometer based on an integrating sphere coupled to a commercial Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) instrument has been constructed for regular spectral transmittance and re ectance measurements over the 1 m m to 18 m m wavelength region. Despite the large number of sources of error that often limit the radiometric accuracy of FTIR measurements, we demonstrate uncertainties similar to...
